Bio and Experience
or...Who the Heck is Jeanne White?
I would like to share with my listeners a little about me.
I am a Boston native so Go Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox! I remember both the Blizzard of '78 and The Perfect Storm.
I have always harbored a dream to become a radio talk show host. The opportunity presented itself through a colleague, Candita Mamet, a regular host of Healthy Living Guide. Candita raised the idea of starting a new show and, knowing the importance of chasing dreams and pursuing hobbies, The Connect Show was born! My goal with the show is to put people together....to make connections and provide networks and tools that will enhance people's lives. My commitment is to network people with the objective of making their day to day lives a little easier and happier! As I say, "It's all about connections!" Get Connected!
My topics and guests tend to range from traditional to unconventional which leads to an eclectic mix. This blend is truly reflective of my personality - free, diverse and filled with a compilation of ideas!
I have been called a renaissance person - someone skilled in multiple disciplines and possessing a broad range of knowledge - but this distinction really belongs to my varied and dynamic guests who impart a wealth of information.
I am a strong advocate of The Starlight Childrens' Foundation of New England which is dedicated to bringing happiness, hope and an improved quality of life to seriously ill children and their families in Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont. As with my show, my commitment is to bring happiness and an improved quality of life to my listeners.
Why have just one career?
I earned a Bachelor's degree from Simmons College, a paralegal certification from Aquinas College, and a Frank J. Manning Gerontology Certificate from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. As an adjunct to that education I became a certified Shine Counselor, working with the elderly population helping them make educated insurance decisions.
I hold a seat on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Boston Community Development Corporation (CDC). I have worked for John Hancock Financial Services in various capacities and was a Human Resource Consultant for several years.
In March 2009 I received my Yoga Certification from the Finding Inner Peace Yoga School.
My friends and colleagues have described me as a true entrepreneur who is trying to broaden my horizons.
I am involved with an online greeting card company called I Love Cards as well as The Connect Show on every second Saturday from 2-3pm.
I am the production assistant for the Ra!Ra! with LauRa Sheridan show, a monthly cable TV program that - you guessed it - teaches people how to live a happier life.

- Hope in Bloom link
- When the four words women fear most: "You have breast cancer" are spoken, lives are forever changed. Armed with plants, shovels, mulch and volunteers, a non-profit program called Hope in Bloom is improving the landscape one garden at a time for people in Massachusetts undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The program enhances the quality of life for breast cancer patients in Massachusetts by planting indoor and outdoor gardens free of charge at their homes. It began In 2007 after the founder, Roberta Dehman Hershon lost a childhood friend and fellow gardener to breast cancer.
- Hope in Bloom gardens provide patients with a beautiful haven to experience the calming effects of nature, which studies show increases serotonin, boosts energy levels and wards off depression. All these factors place patients in a better frame of mind to be more receptive to medical intervention. To date 73 gardens have been installed and brightened the lives of each recipient and their families. In the process awareness has been raised about the benefits and special brand of medicine gardens provide. There are over 100 people waiting in the wings for gardens. The goal is to take this Hope in Bloom across the country.

- Starlight New England is dedicated to bringing happiness, hope and an improved quality of life to seriously ill children and their families in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont. With your help, we can continue to brighten the lives of children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and life-altering injuries.
- When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, the day-to-day joys of childhood take a back seat to the rigors of treatment and hospitalization. For more than two decades, Starlight New England has dedicated itself to improving the quality of life for children with serious medical conditions by providing entertainment, education and family activities that help them cope with the pain, fear and isolation of prolonged illness.
- New England Paralyzed Veterans of America link
- In 1946, the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) was formed by World War II spinal cord injured (SCI) veterans and became a national organization through the unification of several independent organizations of paralyzed veterans throughout the United States of America. In August 1971, PVA received its Congressional Charter as a National Veterans Organization.
- In 1947, a small group of paralyzed veterans living in the local area formed the New England Chapter Paralyzed Veterans of America (NEPVA). NEPVA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization that represents the interests and concerns of paralyzed veterans and other individuals with disabilities throughout the New England area. The organization currently has over 1,000 members and continues to grow.
- The organization's primary focus is veterans' issues, notably quality healthcare for veterans with spinal cord injuries and dysfunction (SCI/D) such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS). NEPVA is interested in all issues affecting the lives of persons with disabilities. NEPVA routinely works with other community civic groups and agencies and has always been a strong advocate for accessibility to all aspects of life that are available to the general population.
